Honey Cake for Rosh HaShana


1 cup “Land of Honey” Honey

½ cup sugar

4 eggs

2 ¼ cups flour

1 T baking powder

½ t baking soda

½ t salt

½ cup strong tea (from 2 tea bags)

½ cup oil

½ t ground cloves

½ cup crushed nuts / raisins (optional)


Preheat the oven to 350m Fahrenheit.

Mix in a big bowl all the wet ingredients.

Add all the dry ingredients into the bowl besides the nuts / raisins. Mix the wet & dry ingredients.

Add the nuts / raisins and mix well.

Pour the mix into a round cake pan / 2 long rectangular pans.

Bake the cake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick you stick in the cake comes out clean.
